Private island
Same cay, louder Perfect Day branding
CocoCay — marketed as Perfect Day at CocoCay — is Royal Caribbean’s redeveloped private island in the Bahamas. The dedicated pier means walk-off access on a normal call. Chill beaches, Oasis Lagoon, and a thrill waterpark split the map into calm versus adrenaline. If mobility is limited, stick to the flat loops near the arrival flow and skip the climb. You’re not hunting a capital city beyond the gate.
Cabanas, specialty dining, and waterpark passes are upsells that work best booked before you sail. South Beach and quieter stretches help when harbour sand is packed. Trams help when you overheat between zones — still watch the reverse to the pier. A calm lunch near the landing often beats racing every branded corner until your feet give up and the clock gets nasty.
A good day is beach and lagoon, maybe one paid thrill, lunch, reverse. Collecting every Perfect Day label turns into a scavenger hunt nobody asked for. Private island still has all-aboard. Treat the pier campus as the whole destination. Crowds bunch after lunch; mornings are kinder on feet and tempers. Read the berth notes the night before so you’re not solving logistics on the gangway.
Chill beach first. Thrill zones only if the pass and clock agree.

What to do with the time you have
- 01
Chill Island and harbour beaches
Main easy sand near the arrival flow. Claim towels and shade early. This is enough of a day for plenty of guests. Midday sun is sharp — rotate inside or under cover when you’ve had enough glare. If mobility is limited, pick the flat loop and skip the climb without calling it a failure.
- 02
Oasis Lagoon float time
Big pool social base when you want floating without ocean chop. Pair with harbour beach rather than racing straight to every thrill. Lines bunch at midday — go slightly off-peak if you can. A calm lunch near the landing often beats a heroic extra viewpoint.
- 03
Thrill Waterpark only with a pass
Slides and height for guests who booked access. Confirm your pass status before you queue. One thrill focus beats bouncing between park and far beach until the pier reverse gets tight. Share the plan with everyone in your group before you split for shops or toilets.
- 04
Cabanas as pre-booked shade
Worth it if reserved. Don’t wander hoping for a free cabana at noon. Ordinary shade and a cooler attitude still make a fine CocoCay day. Ask the guide or driver for the reverse time in plain language, then add twenty minutes for yourself.
- 05
South Beach quieter stretch
Farther sand when harbour beach feels packed. Use tram or path timing honestly. Quieter water isn’t worth missing the last easy walk back to the ship. Leave earlier than feels necessary; the last mile back to the ship is where optimism dies.
- 06
Simple island lunch break
Eat on campus without turning lunch into a project. Food lines peak with everyone else — shift earlier or later. Save elaborate specialty dining experiments for evenings at sea if the queue looks ugly.
- 07
Skip collecting every Perfect Day label
Beach, lagoon, waterpark, cabana, far beach, and every photo spot will not fit calmly. Pick chill path or thrill path. Depth on one lane ages better than a Perfect Day scavenger hunt. Share the plan with everyone in your group before you split for shops or toilets.

Before you sail
Pier campus, passes, all-aboard
- You’re on a private-island pier campus, not a Bahamian capital day. Walk off, pick chill or thrill, and reverse with margin. Trams help between zones but they bunch — leave earlier than you think, especially after lunch.
- Waterpark and cabana access are usually prepaid. Confirm what’s on your card before you queue. Hideaway Beach is adults-only when your sailing allows — check before you walk that far in the heat.
- All-aboard is the real deadline. Midday sun is sharp; shade and water matter more than ticking every Perfect Day label. There is no quick Nassau hop on this call — the island is the itinerary.
