The ship
Edge class, take two — Eden and Magic Carpet
Celebrity Apex (2020) is the second Edge-class ship: design-led premium contemporary with Eden at the stern, the Magic Carpet platform and Infinite Veranda cabin tricks. She sells architecture and plating more than waterpark noise, at roughly 2,910 guests.
Dining follows Edge form: included main restaurant and Oceanview Café. Fine Cut, Le Petit Chef and Eden Restaurant sit among the paid rooms, with Raw on 5 for lighter specialty nights. Pools, spa and thermal suite anchor the outdoor and wellness day.
Evenings lean on Eden at the stern, Magic Carpet events and a theatre built for aerial spectacle. The Retreat keeps suite guests in their own bubble; Camp at Sea covers families. She is Edge-class Celebrity still feeling new — sharper nightlife than older Solstice sisters.
Apex is Edge-class Celebrity: Magic Carpet, Eden, and a design that still turns heads in port.
On board
Restaurants, shows, the rest
- 01
Dining
The main restaurant and Oceanview Café are included. Specialty nights worth planning include Fine Cut Steakhouse, Le Petit Chef and Eden Restaurant, with Raw on 5 among the lighter paid options. Reserve on embarkation if Fine Cut or Le Petit Chef is why you chose Edge — sea-day tables go first.
- 02
Eden and theatre
Eden is the three-deck living room at the stern — day lounge, evening events and Eden Restaurant upstairs. The main theatre runs Celebrity production shows with strong staging. Celebrity is not a licensed Broadway or West End title-musical ship — when a Broadway-flavoured revue such as Stage Door appears, that programme changes by season, so check your sailing. Book centre seats early for headline productions.
- 03
After dark
Martini Bar, craft cocktail spots, the casino and Eden’s evening programme cover nightlife without Fun Ship volume. Drink packages and premium pours sit outside the cruise. Expect a smarter dress-code energy than Carnival, still not black-tie every night. The after-dinner wander stays on a few decks.
- 04
Pools, Magic Carpet and spa
Pool decks and the Magic Carpet platform take daytime views and events. The spa thermal suite is typically an extra day pass. Grab loungers early on warm sea days. There is no waterpark skyline here — the outdoor plan is pools, Magic Carpet and a spa you might actually use.
- 05
Retreat, kids and families
The Retreat keeps suite guests in their own bubble. Camp at Sea covers children when families sail. Couples and design-led travellers get the most from Edge; families who need big splash parks may prefer a Fun Ship instead.
Fine Cut Steakhouse
Fine Cut is Celebrity’s specialty steak room and one of the pricier covers on Celebrity Apex. Quieter and more dressed-up than Oceanview Café. Go here for a splurge dinner, not a cheap filler night. Book early on sea days.
Le Petit Chef
Le Petit Chef is the projected table-theatre dining experience with a cover — more of an occasion night than a quick plated dinner. Mid-to-upper specialty spend. Book early; sea-day slots vanish first.
Eden Restaurant
Eden Restaurant upstairs in the stern living room is a design-led specialty night with a cover. Quieter plating than the main restaurant, with the Eden space below for drinks. Best when you want the room as much as the menu.
Raw on 5
Raw on 5 is the sushi and raw-bar specialty — lighter than Fine Cut, still a paid night. Good when you want precision plates rather than a long steak dinner. Cover or à-la-carte pricing applies.
Oceanview Café
Oceanview Café is the included buffet and casual core on Celebrity Apex. Self-serve without a cover. Best for breakfasts, port mornings and low-fuss lunches.
Main restaurant
The main restaurant is the included plated dining room for most evenings. Proper Celebrity service without a cover. Best for most nights if you are not chasing specialty rooms.
Eden
Eden is the three-deck living room at the stern — day lounge, evening events and Eden Restaurant upstairs. Included once aboard for the lounge; the restaurant is a separate cover. Use it for a drink at sunset even if you never book dinner.
Magic Carpet
The Magic Carpet is Edge’s moving platform for drinks, events and views. Included for many programmed events; some ticketed nights cost extra. Check your daily programme rather than assuming walk-up every hour.
The Retreat
The Retreat keeps suite guests in their own lounge, sundeck and restaurant bubble. Included if you booked a Retreat suite — nicer, not a second ship. Not available on a standard cabin key.
Spa & thermal
The spa and thermal suite sell day passes and treatments as extras — not included in the simple cruise. A calmer daytime reset than the pool deck. Book ahead on sea days if heat loungers and steam are your plan.
Fit
Who she is for
- Couples and design-led travellers who want Celebrity’s Edge-class look — Eden, Magic Carpet, Infinite Veranda cabins and plated specialty nights.
- Guests who will budget for Fine Cut, Le Petit Chef or Eden Restaurant plus drinks, and who like a smarter evening pace than Fun Ship volume.
- Not the ship if you want waterpark thrills, quiet traditional British formal dining, or a small classic mid-size ship. Choose Solstice class or another line instead.
Where
Where Apex tends to go
Celebrity rotates her through Mediterranean summers, Caribbean winters and longer repositioning legs. Exact seasons shift.
Treat this as the ship’s range, not a fixed timetable. When this guide is public, sailings with two or more UK agent prices will sit at the bottom.
Before you book
What the brochure skips
- Specialty dining, drink packages, spa thermal access and Wi-Fi sit outside the simple cruise on most Celebrity bookings. Price the week as the cruise plus what you will actually buy.
- Compare UK agents on the same Apex sailing — same ship, same date, cruise-only, two guests. The hero price should be the lowest bookable one, not the first logo you recognise.
