The ship
Newest Edge: Magic Carpet and Infinite Verandas
Celebrity Xcel (2025) is the newest Edge-class ship, with Eden, the Magic Carpet, Infinite Veranda cabins and Rooftop Garden space on about 3,260-guest bones. She sells modern luxury hardware rather than waterpark noise.
Oceanview Café and main dining cover included hours. Specialty steak, grill and raw-bar rooms carry covers; Blu serves AquaClass guests. Spa thermal access is typically extra — price those into the week.
Evenings centre on Eden, Magic Carpet events and the main theatre. Daytime is the Rooftop Garden, pools and spa. The Retreat keeps suite guests separate. She is newest Edge living — confirm venue names for your sailing as the class settles.
If you want the newest Edge hardware — Infinite Verandas, Magic Carpet and Eden — Xcel is the one to watch.
On board
Restaurants, shows, the rest
- 01
Dining
The main restaurant and Oceanview Café are included. Specialty nights worth planning include Fine Cut Steakhouse, Le Petit Chef and Eden Restaurant, with Raw on 5 among the lighter paid options. Reserve on embarkation if Fine Cut or Le Petit Chef is why you chose Edge — sea-day tables go first.
- 02
Eden and theatre
Eden is the three-deck living room at the stern — day lounge, evening events and Eden Restaurant upstairs. The main theatre runs Celebrity production shows with strong staging. Celebrity is not a licensed Broadway or West End title-musical ship — when a Broadway-flavoured revue such as Stage Door appears, that programme changes by season, so check your sailing. Book centre seats early for headline productions.
- 03
After dark
Martini Bar, craft cocktail spots, the casino and Eden’s evening programme cover nightlife without Fun Ship volume. Drink packages and premium pours sit outside the cruise. Expect a smarter dress-code energy than Carnival, still not black-tie every night. The after-dinner wander stays on a few decks.
- 04
Pools, Magic Carpet and spa
Pool decks and the Magic Carpet platform take daytime views and events. The spa thermal suite is typically an extra day pass. Grab loungers early on warm sea days. There is no waterpark skyline here — the outdoor plan is pools, Magic Carpet and a spa you might actually use.
- 05
Retreat, kids and families
The Retreat keeps suite guests in their own bubble. Camp at Sea covers children when families sail. Couples and design-led travellers get the most from Edge; families who need big splash parks may prefer a Fun Ship instead.
Fine dining specialty
The fine-dining specialty room is one of the pricier covers on Celebrity Xcel. Quieter and more dressed-up than Oceanview Café. Go here for a splurge dinner. Book early on sea days.
Steak / grill
The steak or grill specialty is a classic paid night — mid-to-upper cover versus the included rooms. Best when you want a proper meat course without waiting for a theme night.
Raw bar / seafood
The raw bar and seafood specialty is a lighter paid night than the steakhouse. Cover or à-la-carte pricing applies. Good when you want precision plates.
Blu
Blu serves AquaClass guests with a calmer included dining room than the main restaurant. Included if you booked AquaClass — quieter mornings and evenings for that key.
Oceanview Café & MDR
Oceanview Café and the main dining room are the included core. Proper plated or casual plates without a cover. Best for most nights if you are not chasing specialty rooms.
Eden
Eden is the multi-deck stern living room — day lounge and evening events. Included once aboard for the lounge. Use it for sunset even if you never book the restaurant upstairs.
Magic Carpet
The Magic Carpet is Edge’s moving platform for drinks, events and views. Many events are included; some ticketed nights cost extra. Check the daily programme.
Main theatre
The main theatre runs Celebrity production shows. Cruise-stage spectacle with strong staging, not a permanent West End title residency. Titles change by season — check your sailing.
Rooftop Garden
Rooftop Garden is the outdoor social deck for fresh air and casual gatherings. Included once aboard. Loungers go early on warm sea days.
Spa thermal
Spa thermal access and treatments are extras — not included in the simple cruise. Book ahead on sea days if heat loungers and steam are your plan.
Fit
Who she is for
- UK bookers chasing the newest Edge hardware — Infinite Verandas, the Magic Carpet, Eden and Rooftop Garden — on a modern luxury map.
- Guests who will budget for specialty dining and drinks, and who like design-led evenings rather than Fun Ship volume.
- Not the ship if you want waterpark thrills, a small traditional ship, or quiet British formal dining every night.
Where
Where Xcel tends to go
As a new Edge ship she is likely to see Caribbean winters and Europe summers, with Celebrity adjusting as the class fills out. Confirm the season before you book.
Treat this as the ship’s range, not a fixed timetable. When this guide is public, sailings with two or more UK agent prices will sit at the bottom.
Before you book
What the brochure skips
- Specialty dining, drink packages, spa thermal access and Wi-Fi sit outside the simple cruise on most Celebrity bookings. Price the week as the cruise plus what you will actually buy.
- Compare UK agents on the same Xcel sailing — same ship, same date, cruise-only, two guests. The hero price should be the lowest bookable one, not the first logo you recognise.
