First purpose-built Star — Basil + Bamboo at 224
Star Seeker is Windstar’s first Star-class new build from 2025: 224 guests, Basil + Bamboo specialty, a higher share of full verandas and infinity-window suites than the stretched trio, plus marina toys and Yacht Club culture. She extends Windstar beyond the three lengthened former Seabourn yachts with purpose-built hardware.
Dining runs through Amphora, Basil + Bamboo and the grill. Yacht-scale dining — open seating and weather-led al fresco more than specialty circus spend.
Basil + Bamboo, 112 suites nearly all with veranda or infinity window, marina mornings, bow whirlpool culture, and a 224-guest count tighter than the stretched 312. Sister Explorer follows for 2026/27 — together they are the modern Star face of the brand. Evenings run through the lounge, with other plan-around rooms — among them piano bar, deck music and open-air evenings when weather allows.
Seeker is Windstar new from the keel: 224 guests, Basil + Bamboo, and suite windows designed for high-latitude light.

- 01
Amphora plus Basil + Bamboo
Highlights include Amphora, Basil + Bamboo and the grill. Yacht-scale dining — open seating and weather-led al fresco more than specialty circus spend. Reserve popular rooms on embarkation or before you sail — sea days still fill. Pick deliberately rather than treating the deck plan as a checklist.
- 02
Lounge scale
Music and briefings in rooms sized for 224. Evenings stay yacht-social, not theatre-blockbuster. Faces become familiar fast — that is the sell. Local performers may join in port. Between sets, Yacht Club covers sunset views. Soft entertainment only — no Broadway transfers, no AquaTheatre. Arrive early if a popular briefing or music night matters to you. Programme titles change by season, so check your sailing rather than chasing a name from last year’s brochure.
- 03
Yacht Club and bars
Top-deck Yacht Club for views; check drinks inclusions on your cruise before assuming Silversea-style all-in. Pool and bow whirlpool cover daytime. Specialty cocktails may sit outside some bookings. Price what you drink. Yacht-casual sunset culture replaces megaship package spend. The inclusive story depends on how you booked — read the cruise notes carefully.
- 04
Marina and spa
Watersports marina when at anchor; dedicated spa and fitness between sailings. Ice-strengthened ship opens colder-water marketing even when you sail warm — check your actual chart. No waterpark; daytime is marina toys and quiet decks. Bring active kit and layers for breezy evenings. Weather and port rules decide marina mornings — flexibility is part of the holiday.
- 05
Suite-forward cabins
112 suites, nearly all with veranda or infinity window — a step up from older stretched inventory. Couples and friends groups are the core demo; kids’ facilities are minimal. Pack soft bags for yacht living. If you need megaship choice or extensive kids’ clubs, book elsewhere — Seeker sells purpose-built 224-guest Windstar with Basil + Bamboo and marina mornings.
Amphora
Main restaurant at yacht scale — open seating more than specialty circus. Inclusive on typical Windstar framing; confirm your cruise. Best for most evenings.
Basil + Bamboo
New specialty restaurant — check inclusions versus any surcharge on your sailing. Occasion dining beyond Amphora. Reserve if the concept appeals. Check opening hours on your sailing — they shift by sea day and port day.
The Grill
Al fresco dining when weather allows. Inclusive grill energy. Perfect on warm sail-away nights. Check opening hours on your sailing — they shift by sea day and port day.
Yacht Club
Top-deck lounge for views. Drinks inclusions vary by cruise — verify before assuming all-in. Daytime and dusk social hub. You are buying space and shortcuts, not a second ship.
Main lounge
Entertainment and talks sized for roughly two hundred guests. Yacht-social evenings, not theatre-blockbuster; local performers may join in port. Faces become familiar fast.
Pool & whirlpools
Pool and whirlpools including a bow tub. Included outdoor kit. Claim early on popular sea days. Peak sea days mean queues and early lounger hunts — plan around that.
Watersports marina
Toys at anchor when sea state and port rules allow. Included marina ops on suitable days. A core Windstar reason to book. Peak sea days mean queues and early lounger hunts — plan around that.
Spa
Dedicated wellness space — treatments extra. Between-sailing reset. Book if massage fits your week. A quieter daytime corner than the pool scramble.
Fitness
Gym with sea views for sea mornings. Included fitness access on typical prices. Rarely crowded at this guest count — a quiet place to move between marina and Amphora.
Infinity / veranda suites
Signature new-build suites with veranda or infinity window. Category step-up versus older stretched inventory. Couples and friends groups are the core demo.
Fit
Who she is for
- Guests who want Windstar’s newest hardware at 224 rather than the stretched 312 — Basil + Bamboo specialty, infinity-window suites and marina toys on a purpose-built yacht.
- Couples booking higher-latitude or small-port itineraries who will confirm drinks inclusions and reserve specialty nights early on short cruises.
- Not for travellers needing megaship choice or extensive kids’ facilities — choose Icon/Oasis, Princess Sphere, or a family-focused line instead.
Where
Where Star Seeker tends to go
Early seasons mix warm-water and new Windstar latitudes as the line proves the ice-strengthened pair.
